    PRX-T33 SKIN PEEL

    What is PRX-T33 Skin Peel?

    The revolutionary medical 'no-peel' peel!

Imagine, a medical TCA peel that doesn’t cause any damage to the outer surface of the skin but penetrates to the deeper layers of the epidermis where it can stimulate, renew and regenerate. Well, the solution has now arrived in the PRX-T33 medical peel! The bio-revitalisation skin rejuvenation treatment combines trichloroacetic acid (TCA) with hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). TCA stimulates the growth of new skin cells, has an anti-inflammatory action, helps to clean the pores, destroys bacteria associated with acne and increases the collagen and elasticity of the skin.

The addition of H₂O₂ modifies the skin barrier and promotes penetration without causing any harm or pain and producing an immediate and evident firming of the skin. Ideal to reduce fine lines, crepe skin, rehydrate and thicken the dermis.

The addition of Kojic Acid to the formula also helps to deal with pigmentation issues.

    Why choose PRX-T33 Peel?

Unlike traditional chemical peels, PRX-T33 Peel doesn't induce significant peeling or downtime, making it suitable for all skin types and seasons.

The procedure is painless, suitable for all types of skin, and patients will see a pronounced brightened skin tone after the

    very first session.

By stimulating collagen production and enhancing skin texture, tone, and firmness, PRX-T33 Peel offers unparalleled results without the inconvenience of extended recovery periods.

What can PRX-T33 Peel help treat?

PRX-T33 Peel can help target the following skin concerns (over a course of several treatments, as appropriate):

    * Crepey or sagging skin which has lost its

firmness on the face or cleavage

    * Scarring & Acne Scarring

    * Depressed scars

    * Pigmentation and sun damage

    * Skin with diminished quality that needs an overall “lift”.

What does a PRX-T33 TCA treatment involve?

Please note, we ask clients not to wear any make-up prior to treatment, to allow the Aesthetician to work directly with your skin.

The skin is prepared with mild cleanser, rinsed and dried thoroughly.

2 to 5 layers PRX-T33 is then rubbed into the skin very vigorously to resemble a facial massage. It is then washed off with cold water.

To finish off the treatment, moisturising face cream is applied to nourish the skin in the early rehabilitation period, promoting cell renewal, increasing the skin’s barrier function and restoring the hydrolipidic mantle.

The procedure is pain-free and only takes 10-35 minutes. Results are visible immediately after the first treatment, but the greatest benefits come after a course of either 4 to 6 treatments.

This depends on what we are treating and can be recommended during consultation.

    FAQ’s

How does the PRX-T33 Skin Peel treatment work?

PRX-T33 has a unique combination of three important ingredients:

    Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) (33%):

TCA has been used in chemical peels for many years and does achieve great benefits for the skin although its use is limited due to the amount of damage it can cause to the surface of the skin. TCA stimulates the growth of new skin cells, has an anti-inflammatory action, helps to clean the pores, destroys bacteria associated with acne and increases the collagen and elasticity of the skin.

    Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) (3%):

H₂O₂ is known for its strong antiseptic properties but when applied to the skin, also releases a huge amount of oxygen which nourishes the skin and makes it more receptive to other agents. Scientific studies have shown that it promotes the healing of wounds, helps remodel the skin’s extracellular matrix and reduces inflammation. When combined with TCA, it enhances penetration and efficacy.

    Kojic Acid (5%):

Kojic Acid tackles pigmentation by brightening the skin tone and texture. It also suppresses melanin production, which causes dark blotches on the skin.

How does PRX-T33 Peel differ from traditional chemical peels?

PRX-T33 Peel offers skin rejuvenation without significant peeling or downtime, making it suitable for all skin types and seasons. In addition, PRX-T33 promotes stimulation of fibroblasts and growth factors without causing inflammation or damaging the skin. The treatment can be performed at any time of year, unlike peeling, because it is not photosensitising, and it is suitable for all skin types.

Is it safe and does it hurt?

PRX-T33 was developed with safety in mind, containing proven and safe ingredients that have a wealth of evidence for their use. It is suitable for all ages, skin types and skin colours. There are no needles and the procedure is non-invasive. It may create a mild stinging or burning sensation but no pain, no downtime and no peeling. It is non-photosensitising so can be performed any time of the year.

    Are there any side effects?

Due to the revolutionary formula of PRX-T33, side-effects are minimal. The skin may feel slightly warm and inflamed after treatment and there may be a mild redness.

Peeling of the skin is very rare, but may occur in sensitive areas or where the skin is very thick and may last 2-3 days.

The nourishing and moisturising cream should be liberally applied if this occurs. Swelling can occur particularly in sensitive areas such as under the eyes but this settles within a few days.

There may be a few applications of the peel during a single treatment until the results are obtained, although if it becomes uncomfortable, no more peel applications will be made.

Using the correct aftercare as advised by your practitioner will lessen the risk of adverse events as well as improve the healing process.

    Treatment Prep:

Patients must stop using vitamin C and/or retinol products 7 days before and for 7 days after treatment.

    Is a patch test required?

Consultation with patch test is required 48hrs prior to treatment.

Is there any downtime associated with PRX-T33 Peel?

Minimal downtime is required, allowing you to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Can PRX-T33 Peel address acne scars or hyperpigmentation?

Absolutely! PRX-T33 Peel can target a variety of skin concerns, including acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines, for comprehensive skin rejuvenation.

How soon can I expect to see results?

Results may vary, but many patients notice an improvement in skin texture and radiance after just a few treatments.

What is the recommended treatment program?

Following consultation to determine the number of required sessions, the programme would be 3-4 sessions for normal skin and 6-7 sessions for skin subjected to sun damage, volume loss, wrinkle, lines. Treatments are generally every 1-2 weeks, and once the programme is complete results will last for up to a year as long as client adheres to good skin care regime and healthy diet & lifestyle.

Pre Treatment Advice - PRX-T Therapy (but not limited to):

    * It is advised to avoid any exfoliating products (such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic acids) and retinol (Vitamin A) products on your skin for one week prior to treatment and until healing is complete.

    * Do not have a facial for 7 days before PRX-T33 treatment.

    * Avoid having any other skin peels, scrub, ablation, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning for at least 7 days before PRX-Therapy.

    * Similarly, avoid shaving or waxing the area for a few days prior to treatment.

    * The procedure should not be performed alongside any other exfoliating treatments including other skin peels or microdermabrasion without the agreement of your treating practitioner.

    * The treatment should not be performed on irritated or sunburnt skin and it is recommended to avoid tanning and sunbeds for at least 2 weeks.

    * If you have previously suffered with cold-sores, you must disclose this to the practitioner prior to treatment as you may require medication to prevent an outbreak.

    * If you have had any recent beauty or aesthetic treatments, this should be discussed with your practitioner to ensure that it is safe to proceed with the procedure.

    * A medical history form must be completed prior to any treatment.

    * If you are feeling unwell on the day of treatment, please contact the clinic to re-arrange your appointment.

    * Tell your therapist if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant.

    * PRX Therapy must be avoided during breastfeeding.

    * Any topical use of retinoic acid (isotretinoin) should be discontinued 15 days prior the treatment with PRX-T33 and can be resumed at the end of the cycle of sessions.

    * Products containing retinol can be administered in tablets before the PRX-T33 treatment, or applied topically, if well tolerated.

    * Products containing Vitamin C/Ascorbic Acid (creams, lotions, serums or oils) don’t need to be discontinued if the skin is used to them and tolerates them well.

*Tell your therapist if you are on any prescription medication – oral medications, topical medication, skin creams or injectable medicines - this includes retinoids, antibiotics, steroids, 5FU (Efudix). Many medications for medical conditions may seem unrelated but may have an effect on your skin and cause irritation if combined with PRX-Therapy.

    * Tell your therapist of you have had any Botox/botulinum toxin treatment (face or neck) within 2 weeks before your appointment.

    * Tell your therapist if you have had any dermal filler in any area of the face, neck or décolletage that will be treated with PRX-Therapy in the 2 weeks before your treatment appointment – this includes filler (such as forehead, temples, cheeks, tear trough, nose, jawline, or chin). Fillers are compatible with PRX-T33, but the operator must be aware of this, because the massage must be careful so as not to displace a recently inserted filler.

    * Tell your therapist if you have had any laser treatments before PRX-Therapy: your doctor will choose the interval to be respected based on the type of laser therapy carried out.

    * Avoid from direct sun exposure, including sunbeds and direct sunlight, tanning or any other high doses of UVB light for 2 weeks before your PRX Therapy session.

It is also recommended that you avoid the above in-between your treatment sessions.

*If in doubt about anything speak to your therapist.
