Introducing the 'AW3® Bullet S Line™ Super IPL System.'

The AW3 Bullet S Line™ system efficiently and safely:

- Removes unwanted hair*

- Rejuvenate skin

Faster, safer, better & Pain Free!

Ideal for hair removal, skin rejuvenation, acne treatments, and thread vein removal.

The technology also improves skin texture, providing a dual benefit of hair removal and skin enhancement.

SHR, or Super Hair Removal, is a revolutionary technology for permanent hair reduction.

This innovative technology has become increasingly popular due to its effectiveness, safety, and speed.

What is IPL hair removal?

IPL Hair Removal is a popular medical procedure that reduces unwanted face and body hair using a handheld device that emits a series of rapid, low fluence pulses to heat the hair follicle.

The rapid pulses deliver heat to the hair follicle at a high repetition rate, which gradually heats the hair follicle to a temperature that destroys the hair and prevents future growth. Unlike traditional IPL and laser hair removal technologies, which use a single high-energy pulse, SHR uses a series of low-energy pulses that gradually heat the hair follicle.

. IPL hair removal is suitable to remove hair on the face, arms, legs, bikini line and anywhere else that unwanted hair may grow.

IPL Hair Removal at Illustrious Clinic is a non-invasive procedure, providing our clients with a convenient, virtually pain free method of permanently reducing and removing hair from almost anywhere on the body.

SHAVE THE TREATMENT AREA

PLEASE NOTE: Before your IPL hair removal treatment, you must shave the treatment area to the skin’s surface, prior to attending your appointment. This will help the laser target the hair follicles more effectively, and you’ll have a more comfortable treatment experience.

How permanent is IPL hair removal?

The vast majority of patients will see around a 60-90% long term reduction in hair from a course of 6 treatments. More treatments will usually result in more hair reduction.

Who is IPL hair removal for?

IPL hair removal treatment is suitable for people aged 18 or over. IPL hair removal works best on brown and black hair. It is not effective on white or ginger hair.

What are the benefits of IPL hair removal?

SHR technology offers a number of benefits over traditional IPL and laser hair removal technologies. Some of the key benefits include:

  • Reduced Pain: This technology delivers low-energy pulses that gradually heat the hair follicle, reducing discomfort and pain during treatment.
  • Faster Treatment: This technology offers faster treatment times than traditional IPL and laser hair removal technologies, allowing practitioners to treat larger areas more quickly.
  • Fewer Side Effects: This technology is less likely to cause side effects such as redness, swelling, and blistering than traditional IPL and laser hair removal technologies.
  • Effective for All Skin Types: This technology is safe and effective for all skin types, including darker skin tones.
  • No more waxing, shaving, sugaring or tweezing!

If like most of our clients, you have spent years shaving, waxing or tweezing unwanted hair, you will know the never-ending frustrations of a temporary solution. IPL hair removal can put an end to these frustrations.

Saves you time

Have you ever wondered how much time you have spent in the shower or in the salon removing unwanted hair? Research suggests a woman spends on average 72 days in her lifetime shaving her legs alone! A course of 6 laser hair removal treatments can solve that problem in a matter of hours. Please note, results can vary, as each client is unique.

 Saves you money

According to research, the average woman spends £23,000 on waxing or £6500 shaving in their lifetime. When you factor in the personal time cost involved, it is a staggering amount. At Illustrious Clinic, our prices in are competitive with additional discounts for multiple body area packages and very popular full body options.

 Get Smoother skin

AW3® Bullet S Line™ Super IPL System for hair removal at Illustrious Clinic will leave your skin feeling softer, smoother and silkier to the touch.

No more ingrown hairs

IPL hair removal is often recommended by doctors to treat persistent ingrown hairs. You will also benefit from a reduction in the skin irritation and razor burns caused by shaving.

How does IPL hair removal at Illustrious Clinic work?

The first step is to book a initial consultation and patch test to ensure you are suitable for IPL Hair Removal treatments. Deposit is required upon initial consultation. We explain the treatment in detail and answer any questions you may have. Prior to your visit you will complete a medical questionnaire.

The first treatment can take place a minimum of 48 hours after the patch test.

We recommend face treatments every 4 weeks and body treatments every 6 weeks initially. As the course progresses and hair growth slows down, later treatments may be more widely spaced.

IPL Hair Removal treatments can last anything from 10 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the area(s) being treated.

How much does IPL hair removal cost?

The cost of IPL hair removal depends which body parts you are treating and the number of treatments. When comparing the cost of IPL hair removal, remember not all clinics are equal.

SKIN PREPARATION BEFORE TREATMENTS

To get the most out of your IPL hair removal treatment, it’s important to prepare your skin properly.

Below is a guide on Skin Preparation before your treatment.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Before your IPL hair removal treatment, it’s essential to avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks. Sun exposure can increase the risk of complications, such as burns or pigmentation changes. If you must be in the sun, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Shave the Treatment Area

Before your IPL hair removal treatment, shave the treatment area to the skin’s surface. This will help the laser target the hair follicles more effectively, and you’ll have a more comfortable treatment experience.

Avoid Waxing or Plucking for the best skin preparation before treatment

Avoid waxing or plucking the treatment area for at least four weeks before your IPL hair removal treatment. These hair removal methods remove the hair from the follicle, making it more difficult for the laser to target the hair follicle effectively.

Avoid Perfumes or Deodorants

On the day of your IPL hair removal treatment, avoid using perfumes or deodorants in the treatment area. These products can irritate the skin and increase the risk of complications during treatment.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

During your IPL hair removal treatment, you’ll need to wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. Avoid wearing tight clothing that may rub against the treated skin and cause discomfort.

AFTERCARE

While the treatment itself is relatively simple, proper aftercare is crucial to ensure optimal results and minimise the risk of complications.

Avoid Sun Exposure after IPL Hair Removal

After IPL hair removal, it’s essential to avoid sun exposure to the treated area for at least two weeks. Exposure to the sun’s UV rays can increase the risk of skin damage and hyperpigmentation, which can affect the results of the treatment. If you need to go outside, make sure to apply sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and wear protective clothing to cover the treated area.

Don’t Pick or Scratch

It’s important to avoid picking or scratching the treated area after IPL hair removal. Doing so can cause skin irritation and increase the risk of infection. If you experience any discomfort or itching, apply a cold compress or aloe vera gel to soothe the area.

Avoid Hot Baths and Showers after IPL Hair Removal Treatment

Hot baths and showers can increase blood flow to the treated area, which can increase skin sensitivity and slow down the healing process. For at least two days after laser hair removal, it’s best to avoid hot baths and showers and instead opt for lukewarm water.

Moisturise Regularly

IPL hair removal can cause temporary dryness and flakiness in the treated area. To prevent this, it’s essential to moisturise the area regularly. Choose a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser that’s appropriate for your skin type and apply it twice a day to keep the skin hydrated and soft.

Avoid Exfoliating right after IPL Hair Removal Treatment

After IPL hair removal, it’s best to avoid exfoliating the treated area for at least one week. Above all, Exfoliation can cause skin irritation and may interfere with the healing process. If you need to remove dead skin cells, use a gentle exfoliating scrub that’s appropriate for your skin type.
