    I-PRF (VAMPIRE FACIAL)

i-PRF* SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT, A.K.A THE VAMPIRE FACIAL

Introducing i-PRF* (Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin*), often called the 'Vampire Facial', using the Ultim Mesogun.

    WHAT IS IT?

i-PRF skin rejuvenation treatment is the next generation of PRP, utilising patient’s own blood platelets.

During treatment, a small amount of your blood is drawn, processed, and then re-injected into the treatment area:

    1) Blood draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient.

    2) Processing: The blood is centrifuged to separate the platelets, growth factors, and white blood cells, using the iPRF Smart Cell Centrifuge system.

    3) Re-injection: The resulting i-PRF solution is injected into the treatment area.

This process does not use anticoagulants or other chemical based additives, offering a completely all-natural, non-surgical regenerative treatment, to improve volume loss, photo damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor texture and hair restoration.

    THE ULTIM MESOGUN

i-PRF is injected using the automated meso injector gun called The Ultim Mesogun, which is unique to Illustrious Clinic.

The Ultim Mesogun delivers a precise and uniform amount of i-PRF at a specific depth in the dermis which ensures optimal dermal nourishment and collagen stimulation, thereby ensuring optimal results of improved skin texture, tone and radiance.

The Ultim Mesogun can also help ensure a comfortable experience for the patient by minimizing bleeding, swelling, and blood stasis(pooling of the blood). The outcome is a more precise, accurate, effective, swift and efficient delivery of plasma injected into the areas of concern, making it a superior method of delivery, as opposed to the traditional hand held injector technique that is inconsistent and wasteful.

    WHAT DOES i-PRF INVOLVE?

This expert anti-ageing facial treatment involves taking a blood sample, separating out the plasma and then placing the essential cells back into the body to start a natural regeneration process. I-PRF doesn’t use anti-coagulants, as these can prevent the platelets from releasing growth factors, so it’s considered a superior alternative to PRP.

    METHOD OF TREATMENT?

We will take a small amount of blood from the arm, which is centrifuged to separate the cells, allowing the conditioned plasma to be extracted and used. The growth factors and platelets become trapped within the three-dimensional fibrin matrix and released slowly to trigger cellular renewal, skin remodelling and stem cell stimulation.

The plasma can be introduced to the skin using microneedling, a Meso needle injector or free hand injection, into the area(s) of concern, to activate healing and regeneration.

    BENEFITS OF i-PRF?

i-PRF intensifies the functioning and reproduction of cells, thus having a gentle, gradual yet long lasting and accumulative effect. As a result, new fibroblasts, collagen and elastin tissues are formed, skin elasticity and complexion is improved, and the pigmentation is reduced. Its uses are not limited to skin rejuvenation, and can be applied to Hair Restoration.

WHEN CAN YOU SEE THE RESULTS OF i-PRF?

You need to be realistic with your expectations, however we suggest the first visible results from i-PRF treatments are usually seen within a couple of weeks, but the main effects are typically noticeable after six to eight weeks. Long-term benefits, such as improved skin quality, collagen production, and skin tightening, may take up to three to four months to be noticed and can last for six to 12 months. As advised, every client is different, and results will vary depending on each client’s health, healing capabilities, diet, and environmental factors that can all contribute to the results.

    FAQS

    Benefits of i-PRF Treatment?

i-PRF is the most biocompatible and effective autologous treatment to date. i-PRF is a unique treatment that plays a pivotal role in maintaining firmness and elasticity in your skin, and hair restoration. i-PRF supports the repair of damaged skin, while helping to maintain the skin's protective and regenerative functions.

    i-PRF vs PRP?

IPRF treatment is similar to PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), which separates the plasma from the blood before re-injecting it into targeted areas. With i-PRF, however, a slower-speed machine, called the i-PRF Smart Cell Centrifuge, separates out the plasma. This guarantees a higher quantity of the following key substances:

Leukocytes – these white blood cells aid wound healing and can refine the appearance of scarring.

Platelets – these help with clotting and release growth factors.

Growth factors – these help with cell growth, tissue repair and inflammation. The treatment releases 7 of these.

Fibrin mesh – this protein traps these key substances.

What kind of results can you hope for with i-PRF?

i-PRF helps to intensify the functioning and reproduction of cells. The effect is accumulative and long lasting without any considerable side effects.

As a result, new fibroblasts, collagen and elastin are produced. You will notice better skin elasticity and complexion will improve, fine lines will diminish and the skin will appear better hydrated. Even pigmentation and Rosacea can reduce.

However, please note, results may vary depending on your own body's healing process, diet, lifestyle and any outside factors that may contribute towards how effective treatment will be.

How often would you do i-PRF?

Treatment protocols will vary from patient to patient, however it is generally suggested i-PRF facial treatments are usually administered as a course of 3 or 5 treatments with a 2–4-week interval, depending on each client. After your initial treatment you might want to have a single session 2-3 times per year to maintain the results, but as this is completely bio-compatible, you can have this monthly should you wish.

Is there any downtime post treatment?

Downtime is minimal if at all. There will be some redness and slight discomfort immediately post treatment but this is temporary and resolves/settles very quickly.

    Who performs this treatment?

Our Registered Nurse will perform the i-PRF skin rejuvenation treatment in the clinic, to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficacy.

    Does it hurt?

When your blood is being collected there may be a slight scratch when the needle is inserted.

The techniques to administer the i-PRF differ in levels of discomfort but neither will be too uncomfortable. Numbing cream can be applied if needed, this will be discussed prior to your treatment, during consultation.

    AFTERCARE

    * Post Treatment Expectations:

Following the procedure, some redness and minor swelling may occur, but these effects generally subside within a day or two. Results gradually become noticeable over several weeks as collagen production continues to flourish.

    *Post Treatment Aftercare:

Avoid sun or other prolonged UV exposure for 14 days post treatment. SPF and antioxidant protection must be worn post-treatment. You will be advised on suitable aftercare products

Avoid vigorous exercise, sauna/steam room/hot baths, and any other heat treatments for 24 hours post treatment.

Avoid touching treated area without washing your hands thoroughly, especially in the first 48 hours.

Please note, the above aftercare is just a guide. Full aftercare advice will be given to you when you attend your appointment with us.

What Is the Difference Between i-PRF and PRP?

i-PRF is 100% natural, with no additives, no anti-coagulant nor chemicals added - thus making is 100% natural.

The platelet concentration in i-PRF is more than double that of PRP. The three-dimensional fibrin matrix traps the platelets and growth factors and controls their slow release which leads to a more efficient cell migration, proliferation, and bio-stimulation. i-PRF is unique - there is no substitute.

    Why choose i-PRF vs PRP?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and i-PRF (Injectable Platelet-Rich Fibrin) treatments both use a patient's own blood to stimulate the production of collagen and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

However, there are some key differences between PRP and PRF injections that you should be aware of before making a decision.

    What is PRP?

PRP is a treatment that involves injecting a concentration of platelets from the patient's own blood into the skin. Platelets are a type of blood cell that contain growth factors, which can help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, improve skin texture and tone, and reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

    What is i-PRF?

i-PRF is similar to PRP, but it involves the use of a different preparation process that results in a higher concentration of platelets and a stronger release of growth factors. i-PRF also contains fibrin, a protein that helps to support tissue repair and regeneration.

    Who can get i-PRF treatments?

i-PRF is a medical procedure that uses the patient’s own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation in various areas of the body. Individuals who are seeking to improve the health and appearance of their skin, including those with scarring, wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, and volume loss, may be good candidates for PRF treatment.

    CONTRAINDICATIONS

Who can NOT get i-PRF treatments?

While i-PRF treatment can be effective for a variety of skin conditions, it is not suitable for everyone.

If you have any of the following, you may be advised to postpone any i-PRF treatment:

    * Pregnancy or breast-feeding

    * Undergoing anticoagulant therapy, such as Warfarin

    * Any medical condition having a significant effect on platelet function

    * Unwell because of any recent blood-loss or infection

It is also important to note that patients with a history of cancer, including skin cancers, melanomas, or other types of cancers, are not suitable for PRF treatment as it may promote cancer cell growth.

Furthermore, patients with autoimmune diseases, organ transplants, bleeding disorders, or those who require anticoagulation therapy or have active bleeding should not undergo PRF treatment.

Patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy are also not eligible for this treatment. It is essential to consult with a healthcare provider or doctor to determine if any of your current health conditions could potentially hinder your

    i-PRF treatment.

Only individuals who are generally healthy and have no underlying medical conditions that could increase the risks of the procedure should consider i-PRF treatment.
